ARDF Event

Mark your calendars:  An Amateur Radio Direction Finding (ARDF) event has been arranged for Saturday, July 23rd at the Trippets Ranch entrance to Topanga State Park, from 10:30 to 16:00 hrs.  At least half a dozen 2-meter transmitters will be on the air.  Some will be continuous and others intermittent, to simulate different kinds of emergency locator beacons and interference sources.  A limited amount of extra direction-finding gear will be available for those who do not have any but would like to participate. 

Also recommended are a pencil, protractor, compass and clip board.  This is a DCS and SAR event, but a uniform is not required to participate for SAR, it is required for LACDCS members.  Look for the registration table under the trees off the east end of the main parking lot. 

The Trippets Ranch entrance is reached by taking Entrada Road east from Topanga Canyon Boulevard where it splits off north of "downtown" Topanga. Follow the signs to the Park Entrance.

The event itself is free, but there is a $10 fee for cars entering the Park (Carpooling is suggested)
